DC-DC converters - Standardized or customized

Off-the-shelf converters rarely survive the real world of marine decks, off-highway cabs, and medical enclosures. We design and deliver converters from 150 W to 2 kW that are sized, rated, and hardened for where you actually need them.

The catalogue part does not quite fit?

Standard converters are designed for standard conditions. When your input voltage swings, your enclosure is sealed, or your EMC requirements are non-negotiable, the catalogue runs out of options fast.

You have a spec — you need someone to build it.

We work with engineers who know what they need. Our job is to take your electrical and mechanical requirements and deliver a converter that meets them — efficiently, reliably, on schedule.

Semi-standard is often the right answer.

We maintain a baseline range of proven topologies. Adapting one of those to your specific input range, form factor, or connector pinout is faster and lower-risk than starting from a blank schematic.

From standard baseline to full custom

Our converter range covers isolated and non-isolated topologies across a broad power envelope. Most deliveries are semi-custom — built from a proven baseline and adapted to your application.

ISOLTAED DC-DC

Single & dual output converters

Galvanically isolated converters for applications where ground separation, noise immunity, or safety isolation is required. Suitable for medical auxiliary supplies, sensor interfaces, and mixed-voltage systems.

  • Power range — 150 W – 600 W

  • Input voltage — 9–60 V DC (wide range)

  • Topology — Full bridge / LLC

  • Isolation — 1.5–4 kV DC

  • Regulation — < ±1% load/line

MOST REQUESTED

Semi-custom — your spec, our baseline

Take a proven converter topology, adapt the input range, output voltage, mechanical format, or connector pinout to match your design. You get the performance certainty of a tested design and a result that fits your product properly.

  • Lead time — Shorter than full custom

  • MOQ — From low series volumes

  • Adaptations — Voltage, form factor, connectors, cooling

  • Support — Full documentation & EMC assistance

  • Start — Technical brief → proposal

RUGGEDISED

High-voltage input converters

Designed for off-highway vehicles, marine installations, and industrial automation — where transients, cold-start surges, and wide input swings are part of normal operation.

  • Power range — 150 W … 10 kW

  • Input voltage — 16–275 V DC

  • Protection — Reverse polarity, OVP, OCP, OTP

  • Operating temp.— –40 °C to +85 °C

  • Form factor — Baseplate-cooled or chassis-mount

DESIGN FOUNDATION

From specification to delivery

We work with engineers who come to us with a defined requirement. The process is straightforward — our job is to make it efficient.

Technical brief

You share your input/output requirements, mechanical constraints, environment, and any regulatory context. A 30-minute call is usually enough.

Design proposal

We recommend a baseline topology and outline the adaptations needed. You get a clear picture of scope, schedule, and cost before anything is committed.

Development & prototype

We build and test a prototype against your specification. You get full documentation and access to our EMC and thermal test capability in-house.

Series delivery

Once the design is validated, we support the transition to series volumes — whether that's tens or thousands of units per year.

APPLICATIONS

Where our converters are specified

Off-highway machinery

Wide input swing, cold-start transients, and vibration. Auxiliary power for sensors, displays, and control electronics on construction and agricultural equipment.

Our converters are built for environments where a standard part would either fail or require more external protection circuitry than the savings justify.

Industrial automation

24 V and 48 V rail supplies for PLCs, sensors, and actuators in factory environments where uptime matters and replacement is expensive.

Marine & maritime

Salt-air environments, 24 V and 48 V bus systems, and strict EMC requirements. Isolated supplies for navigation electronics, communication, and safety systems.

Electric vehicles & charging

Auxiliary power from high-voltage traction bus to 12 V or 24 V vehicle loads. Isolation, efficiency, and thermal management in a compact format.

Medical equipment

Patient-applied and auxiliary supplies where isolation class, leakage current, and regulatory compliance are non-negotiable parts of the design.

Defence & harsh environment

Extended temperature range, ruggedised construction, and compliance with MIL-STD or equivalent requirements for ground vehicle and portable system applications.

Power electronics is our core competence — not a side offering

01

Over 45 years of power electronics design

Our heritage goes back to EK Power Solutions, founded in 1978. That depth of experience shows up in how we approach EMC, thermal management, and reliability — not just in headline specs.

02

In-house test capability

We test prototypes for EMC, thermal performance, and electrical compliance in our own lab — which means faster iteration and fewer surprises at third-party certification.

03

Semi-custom as the standard path

Starting from a proven baseline reduces development risk and time-to-delivery. Most of our customers get a better result than full custom, in less time, at lower cost.

04

Part of a complete power and motion offering

If your project also involves motor drives, magnetic components, or embedded control, we can handle those alongside the converter — one engineering partner, fewer handoffs.
